Microsoft Vista – Internet Access for All Accounts

I got a new computer with Microsoft Vista and internet connection was only working for the main administrator account. Not very handy if you have guests and they need to access the internet. Here’s how to give internet access to additional guest accounts.

This issue is due to User Account Controls(UAC) in Windows Vista. To isolate the issue,  perform the steps provided below:

** Disable User Account Control(UAC) **

Note: Disabling UAC will lead to a less secure system, so be warned.

1. Click on start.
2. Select Control Panel, and type in “UAC” into the search box.
3. Click on the link “Turn User Account Control (UAC) on or off”.
4. On the next screen, uncheck the box for “Use User Account Control (UAC)”,
5. click on the OK button.
6. Restart your computer before the changes take effect.
