I came from an ultra-religious family, and several years of scientific reading later, I found myself questioning the core of my religious beliefs. During those years, I did not know anyone who was an atheist and I thought I was the only one. I was angry that such a rigid belief system (religion) had been forced upon me as a child when I was powerless to resist it. At the same time, I value and cherish the enlightenment, that science presented me, much more, because I earned it myself. But, my heart bleeds for the billions of people out there who haven’t had the same privilege, who are letting religion dictate the terms of their life, including what they eat, what they wear, whom they live with, what work they can do, what they can study, what they do with their free time and who they are, in the hope that an imaginary hedonistic despot would be pleased with them.
I dream of a world where it would be illegal for people to impose their beliefs on their children, without providing an alternate perspective.

Since I posted this blog I’ve been always having full faith in the Highest that resides in each and every one of us and everywhere, whether we call It: God, Numerical Order, or Mother Nature…

I simply meant comparing human egos created by humans to the mighty planets created by the Highest in Humans… I never implied in my blog a comparison between humans and planets… I stressed that humans are made in God’s image and likeness… and not planets…

God bless you all regardless of your creed, or lack thereof…

When I die and go to heaven I am going to ask God for two things. One to play footbal with my two sons when they join me in heaven. We will all be 20 years old, and two to take me around the universe to see his coolest planets. To the non believers. Would you like me to save you a seat?
