There is no “Conrad Venetian” – You might have confused that because of my blog name. There is a Conrad Hotel is Hong Kong but that is a different company.

Although I live in Macau, I have stayed at the Venetian hotel. The rooms are very nice – I would even say opulent. “Well appointed” would be an understatement – it’s very luxurious and classy in my opinion. I loved it.

It’s all alone on the strip, surrounded by dark building sites and cranes, while it looms like a gleaming monolith.

Well, there’s the Grand Waldo next door, but that’s kinda lost next to the Venetian, despite being covered in flashy neon. It’s odd. In a way, the Venetian is almost austere, understated – no colors, no flashing lights. It’s a lot more elegant than, say, the Grand Lisboa. And yet, it’s incredibly overstated – it’s a massive pillar of white, lighting up the sky for miles around.
