I was in this group from 1976-1980 and I can say it was the single most important music training I ever had. NWBC is also a good stepping stone to Seattle Opera and recording soundtracks. (NWBC sings on one of my favorite game scores: Age of Mythology by Ensemble Studios.)<\/p>\n<p>It was 1979 or 1980 I won the first &#8220;Touring Choirboy of the Year&#8221; award. A lot of years have gone by since then but the pride of winning that has not dimmed.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><strong>It&#8217;s Recruitment Time at the Northwest Boychoir!<\/strong><br \/>\nAnd because you&#8217;re a friend of the Choir, we want you to know so you can pass the word along to any young boys you think might be interested.<\/p>\n<p>Open auditions will be held Saturday, May 31 for boys 6 to 9 years old (in grades 1 through 4) for enrollment in September. If you&#8217;re receiving this, it&#8217;s because you&#8217;re a member or alum, you&#8217;ve attended our concerts, or maybe you&#8217;ve supported our education program with a donation. In any event, we&#8217;re convinced that those people who know us are the best ones to help us recruit new members.<\/p>\n<p>Please forward this email to anyone you think might be interested. Our auditions are casual and fun. We do require an appointment to audition. But we don&#8217;t require any previous music training. If you&#8217;re interested in learning more about the Northwest Boychoir, check out our website.
