“Cirque has decided yesterday to transfer all its employees currently in <\/em>Japan<\/em><\/strong> to <\/em>Macau (China).<\/em><\/strong> These preventative measures touch the staff and artists of <\/em>ZED<\/em><\/strong>, presented at <\/em>Tokyo Disneyland<\/em><\/strong>, which is closed for the next 7 days, and artists and staff of <\/em>Kooza<\/em><\/strong>, presented in <\/em>Fuji Dome<\/em><\/strong> in <\/em>Tokyo<\/em><\/strong>, which is also cancelled until further notice. Artists and staff will benefit from the support of the <\/em>Macau<\/em><\/strong> colleagues and will be able to pursue their training at the <\/em>Macau <\/em><\/strong>training centre.”<\/em><\/p>\n The <\/em>Cirque<\/em><\/strong> has two permanent shows in Asia. In addition to <\/em>ZED<\/em><\/strong> at <\/em>Tokyo Disneyland<\/em><\/strong>, there’s <\/em>ZAIA <\/em><\/strong>at the <\/em>Venetian Hotel<\/em><\/strong> in Macau. <\/em>Kooza <\/em><\/strong>is a touring show which just happened to be playing in <\/em>Tokyo<\/em><\/strong> at the time of the quake.<\/em><\/p>\n Here in Macau China, like so many around the world, we are monitoring the situation in Japan while our hearts and prayers go out to the people there.<\/p>\n To put a positive and hopefully not superficial spin on things – Here in Macau we are VERY happy to host our Cirque family artists, technicians and support staff from ZED and KOOZA.
