While taking classes I was on tour as music director with the Cirque du Soleil show Varekai and was fortunate enough to have our violin player from the show,\u00a0<span style=\"font-size: 0.95em;\">David Pich\u00e9<\/span>, record the violin tracks while in Vilnius, Lithuania.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>David improvised extraordinary violin melodies over my tracks so the piece became a songwriter collaboration as well.<\/p>\n<p>What was particularly challenging for me is that this assignment forced us to produce our tracks with Propellerhead Software in Reason. I am very fast with ProTools and Ableton Live, but being new to Reason made the process much slower for me.<\/p>\n<p>Skagit Impressions Six of the &#8220;Conrad Askland and Gary Brown Project&#8221; where we combine photography of Gary Brown with music by Conrad Askland. All photographs are of Skagit County, WA USA. We love Skagit County for it&#8217;s beautiful farmlands and changing landscapes.
