My musical of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet has been translated to Chinese! This work was done by a Chinese student majoring in Linguistics who goes by the handle “CocoKissh”. We did some Zoom meetings preparing for the project and that was really fun working between Seattle, WA and Beijing, China. The video is available on the Chinese website “Bilibili” which is kind of a Chinese version of YouTube. The Bilibili website is available to most people in mainland China, so this makes the video widely available to a Chinese audience and the Chinese subtitles now give an enhanced understanding of the dialogue and plot lines.<\/p>\n

My “Romeo and Juliet” musical premiered onstage in January 2015 at the Historic Lincoln Theatre in Mount Vernon, WA. I composed the music entirely to the original redacted text of William Shakespeare (that means I didn’t change any words, but I did edit the script down a bit).<\/p>\n

\n\u7531\u4e8e\u6731\u751f\u8c6a\u8bd1\u672c\u5728\u56fd\u5185\u7684\u63a5\u53d7\u5ea6\u8f83\u9ad8\uff0c\u4e14\u63aa\u8f9e\u8f83\u4e3a\u53e4\u96c5\uff0c\u4e0e\u8be5\u97f3\u4e50\u5267\u504f\u4f20\u7edf\u7684\u97f3\u4e50\u98ce\u683c\u642d\u914d\uff0c\u56e0\u6b64\u4e2d\u6587\u5b57\u5e55\u4e3b\u8981\u4f7f\u7528\u6731\u7248\u8bd1\u6587\uff0c\u5c3d\u53ef\u80fd\u8fd8\u539f\u201c\u539f\u6587\u586b\u8bcd\u201d\u7684\u4f53\u9a8c\u3002\u8c03\u6574\u90e8\u5206\u5305\u62ec\u4eba\u7269\u79f0\u8c13\uff08\u5982\u201c\u592a\u592a\u201d\u5168\u4f5c\u201c\u592b\u4eba\u201d\uff09\u3001\u987a\u5e8f\u3001\u4e0e\u539f\u6587\u4e49\u6709\u522b\u7684\u53ef\u80fd\u5f71\u54cd\u793e\u4f1a\u89c2\u70b9\u7684\u5730\u65b9\u7b49\u3002
