Running Programs as Administrator

I had a situation where I installed a legal paid version of a software program (Sibelius 4) but it said it would not run; that I had to run it as “administrator” rights. But I was already logged into my computer from my administrator account, so it didn’t make much sense to me. Here’s what to do in that situation…

If you are running a PC with Vista, when you open Sibelius 4 (or another software program) for the first time it says you need to be an administrator. you get round this by going into:

  • my computer>
  • c:>
  • program files>
  • sibelius software>
  • sibelius 4>

then right click on “sibelius.exe” (it might not say .exe at the end) and click “Run as Administrator”

Simple. And it works.
