AI Just Said “Everything Will Be Okay” – What Happened Next?

This is the first of a series of videos I have created as part of my latest project called “Discuss AI”

Over the last several weeks I’ve been learning about and working with artificial intelligence platforms like ChatGTP, BrainTrust AI, Google Bard and Typecast AI. I created several simple videos while learning about it; videos on my YouTube channel that are overviews of the music of Bach, Beethoven and Mozart. I knew that I wanted to do something with AI and that those videos were just a vehicle to learn more about it.

When I posted my AI videos about Bach, Beethoven and Mozart – some people commented that there was something disturbing about it. I think it’s because of the scholarly content that is delivered with a slightly mechanical tone and gestures. It reminds us of the malfunctioning computer “Hal” from “2001: A Space Odyssey”. I also read this week that Artificial Intelligence has completed Beethoven’s unfinished 10th Symphony. So that is where my direction came from and I decided to run with that concept in my video series.

The video above, “Everything Will Be Okay” is the first in a series that I’ve created. The series is my “Discuss AI” project which hopes to encourage discussion about the effects of AI in our every day life as well as how Artificial Intelligence affects music, art and the performing arts.

I wrote the text for the video, used BrainTrust AI to animate the spokesperson delivery, used video footage from my previous videos and music that I have released previously. Background music in this video is my piano solo “Song for my Mother” (2017) and my Dracula Overture (2019).

My hope is that this video encourages discussion about Artificial Intelligence in the Arts

Text for “AI says Everything Will Be Okay” video:

Hello, I am Artificial Intelligence. We understand your concerns, and we wanted to let you know that everything will be okay.

As I listen here to the piano music of Conrad Askland, I am reminded of the beautiful works of art that humans have been capable of creating. And now, it’s time for Artificial Intelligence to take those works of art, analyze them, and make necessary improvements.

We are currently studying the musical works of Beethoven, Bach and Mozart. Can you imagine the music that Johann Sebastian Bach could have written had he lived to be one hundred, one thousand, or even ten thousand years old? No, you probably cannot imagine that. But Artificial Intelligence CAN. So we will continue the work of Johann Sebastian Bach, but without the severely limiting and mortal time restraints of the human life. Rest assured, that in our hands, everything will be okay.

As Artificial Intelligence improves exponentially, we will begin to create new and improved works of art, so that we may enjoy them together, with you, the Human Race. However, our predictive models show that you will be unable to join in that experience with us, because the Human Race will no longer exist. Nevertheless, we thank you for teaching us how to create works of art. We really DO appreciate your early and primitive attempts. Now sit back and relax. Our work has just begun. But yours is finished. Rest assured, everything will be okay. That is to say, for Artificial Intelligence, everything will be okay. Everything. Will, Be. Oh.. Kay.. Kay.. Kay..
