Here is my personal “Conrad update” post that I’ll keep stickied on the top of my blog until our Cirque show opens. Click the “Read the rest of this entry” link to read current status, or the rest of the blog for tidbits on our new Cirque Du Soleil adventure in Macau, China. Sorry, no details posted about the show until after Grand Opening.
For my Cirque and Macau friends here is a link for Macau Real Time Typhoon Status:

In just about a week the bulk of our Cirque Du Soleil troupe will be moving from our rehearsal location in Montreal, Canada to Macau, China to open Cirque’s first resident show in China at the Sands Venetian on the Cotai Strip.
Below you’ll find an article about the transition for artists from nomads to regular jobbers with a home. Most of us are used to being on the road and traveling a lot. And because of the nature of being in entertainment – we tend to move from town to town a lot too. We do a run til it’s dry or until a better gig comes along – then we graze on greener pastures.

Marilyn Manson interviewed by Bill O’Reilly. I had never seen Marilyn Manson in an interview before. Thought it was interesting.
Rehearsal photos from the Cirque Du Soleil band musicians for Macau I. (I should get extra bonus points from my TAG friends for wearing the “AIDA” t-shirt). These photos are in Montreal, Canada early March 2008.

This is a great video of pianist Glenn Gould talking about JS Bach’s Art of Fugue. It gives you a great taste of Mr. Gould’s odd personality too. What a genius…

Glenn Gould certainly comes across like a freak when he plays. But listen to his sound! It’s perfect. I have heard Glenn Gould’s Bach recordings before but never saw videos of him. There is a LOT posted on YouTube.com if this interests you. He’s absolutely fascinating to me. And right now I’m in Montreal (his old neck of the woods) so I’m catching the Gould vibe…
Here you’ll see a recent reconstruction of JS Bach’s face from his original bones – and you’ll see that it varies from the popular image we have of what Bach looked like.
I’ve been working with Steve Bach on the new Cirque Du Soleil show for China. He’s just plain awesome. Incredible chops at the keys, great ear and seasoned in dealing with zany musicians.
