A friend of mine from Indonesia said this is one of her favorite songs by Nike Ardilla. Nike is an Indonesian singer and recording artist who died in a car accident at age 20. The song video has Karaoke type lyrics written on the screen so it’s also a good way for me to learn how to enunciate Indonesian!
I am getting a little taste of Chinese culture. The people in Macau (SAR) China are, I think, some of the nicest people in the world. At least the nicest I have met, and I’ve traveled a fair amount. But I’m getting a little taste of the culture gap now.

ZAIA (“Zai-Yah”)is the name of our new Cirque Du Soleil show in Macau, China. Former working titles included “Macao 2008”, “Macao One” and “Cosmos”.

It’s my birthday today (May 27 – a day ahead in China) which is not interesting in itself, but two kind of funny things:
Did you know you can send greeting cards from the Cirque Du Soleil website? A friend sent me this and I thought it was awesome: Cirque Du Soleil Conrad Birthday Card.
And if you wonder where I get my sense of humor from (most call it a curse…), my Mother played a good birthday trick on me. She had everyone and their brother send me a birthday message. So today (I’m a day ahead of the West because I’m living in China) I got swamped with birthday greeting emails. That was very fun.
And you know what I get to do on my birthday? Rehearse the newest Cirque Du Soleil show in their new theater. And THAT is the best birthday present of all!

Now fast-forward to Charles Darwin and the claim: “Darwin recanted the theory of evolution on his deathbed”. I saw that posted again today on a creation debate discussion forum.
No, he didn’t. Sorry, it’s just not true. I thought this had long been put to rest, but saw it posted yesterday on one of my creation vs. evolution discussion websites.
This is a very old and untrue argument (if it can be called an argument, doesn’t really even have a bearing on anything). In fact, it is such an untrue statement that even the creation flagship website answersingenesis.org says not to use it.
