Sharon Stone says China Earthquake is Bad Karma

HONG KONG — The backlash in China against Sharon Stone continued Wednesday as the Shanghai International Film Festival said the American actress was not welcome at this year’s event

The 50-year-old “Basic Instinct” star provoked outrage in China after suggesting that the recent earthquake in central Sichuan province may have been the result of bad “karma” because of Beijing’s rule in Tibet.

Doyle Dykes Wabash Cannonball

Doyle Dykes is an renowned acoustic guitar artist and Christian musician. I saw this Doyle Dykes video posted on one of my guitar discussion forums. It sure made me homesick! I used to work at a music store and Doyle Dykes did a guitar clinic for us. He’s a Taylor Guitar artist. He also performs often at one of my favorite churches in Southern California – Calvary Chapel High Desert.

When I listen to his rendition of Wabash Cannonball – I swear I can almost hear the lyrics being sung from the guitar. He’s absolutely amazing.

Nike Ardilla

A friend of mine from Indonesia said this is one of her favorite songs by Nike Ardilla. Nike is an Indonesian singer and recording artist who died in a car accident at age 20. The song video has Karaoke type lyrics written on the screen so it’s also a good way for me to learn how to enunciate Indonesian!

マカオでのプログラムは、「ZAIA（ザイア）」に決定しました。この「ZAIA（ザイア）」は、アジア地域で初めて行われる常設公演となります。
２００８年８月２８日に祝賀式典が開催されます。この日はベネチアン・マカオ・リゾート・ホテルの１周年記念にあたります。プレビュー公演は２００８年７月２６日からスタートします。

A Cirque Birthday

It’s my birthday today (May 27 – a day ahead in China) which is not interesting in itself, but two kind of funny things:

Did you know you can send greeting cards from the Cirque Du Soleil website? A friend sent me this and I thought it was awesome: Cirque Du Soleil Conrad Birthday Card.

And if you wonder where I get my sense of humor from (most call it a curse…), my Mother played a good birthday trick on me. She had everyone and their brother send me a birthday message. So today (I’m a day ahead of the West because I’m living in China) I got swamped with birthday greeting emails. That was very fun.

And you know what I get to do on my birthday? Rehearse the newest Cirque Du Soleil show in their new theater. And THAT is the best birthday present of all!

FYI, the software WordPress is 5 years old on May 27.
